The day Sam died we didn't do much of anything...I wasn't in a hurray to get anything done. I spent most of the day in my pajamas playing with my sweet little boy. I needed a Kairos moment considering the last several months have been littered with busyness, preparing for the holidays, running my dad to and fro and cleaning up loose ends since his death. I had had enough of busyness and worrying.
After surveying our living room we settled on Jenga and a Barrel of Monkeys. I would fill the Barrel of Monkeys and while Tylor emptied it I would build a tower with the Jenga blocks and then he would knock it down and I would refill the Barrel of Monkeys and visa verse. Mundane quite possibly. Meaningless absolutely not. I love simple moments with my little one watching him enjoy wholeheartedly what he is doing. I'll shut up now and let you see the pictures.
| Apparently I missed a picture of the monkeys actually in the barrel. |
Moving on!
RED ALERT! RED ALERT! The tower has been spotted!
Utter destruction in 5...4...3..2...
(insert your own raspy growling noise here)
Pause to look at the camera
Seriously, this face is killing me and this isn't even the best one he was pulling, he was really distracted by the camera.
Truth: How many ways have you built a tower with Jenga blocks? There are several possibilities. You should try it sometime...especially when there is a small child present....They enjoy it and you have an excuse not to look childish but enjoy something totally child-like.
"Hey mom! What ya got?!"
"Awe Man! You mean I crawled all the way over here for nothing?!"
"Eh whatever!"
