Sunday

Let's be honest I don't know how to start most of my blog posts but today is a day to be remembered . . . One I will laugh about for years I'm sure. . .

Earlier this week we learned we are expecting a baby girl in July....a game changer indeed but that is a post for another day. This morning as I got ready I was thinking about how different things would be with a girl...you know the tantrums over shoes, the tears over hair....things most girls go through. I dressed Tylor and Talmage and then found shoes. After calling twice for Tylor to come put his shoes on Matt said he thought he may have gone outside....last week he escaped the house before church and jumped in a puddle... I panicked a bit. It rained most of the day yesterday and Tylor has spent time over the last several days playing in the sandbox. Luckily he didn't get too far. (I will concede that I do probably deserve a day where we are late for church because he's gotten himself really dirty. My mom has a picture somewhere of a little girl in a white sundress in the middle of a sandbox to prove it.) While I put shoes and socks on the boys Matt armed the boys with Nerf guns. I can't complain it kept them quiet and cooperative. I trailed them to the bathroom to comb there hair, going through the mental checklist of what needed to be done to get out the door. Tylor ran off as I began combing Talmage's hair. I was trying to listen for the back door when I heard "shoot mommy" "no don't shoot mommy" and then Tylor appeared outside the bathroom with a Nerf gun. I reminded him " don't shoot mommy" but alas my warning was in vain. I was shot point bank in the eye! I was so in shock at his accuracy that all I could do was shout his name (Matt told me the neighbors probably heard me.....Ooops!) Thank heavens for Daddy's he disarmed my little monkey and we were soon on our way out the door and on our way to church.

The battle was quite normal through Sacrament the normal wiggles and trying to escape our isle....realistically I think my boys do pretty good.

Sunday school was a bit of a challenge Talmage was  quite restless. But the real kicker was Relief Society. As I'm wrestling Talmage and trying to listen and pay attention, I suddenly hear the sound of raspberries being blown. I was trying not to giggle when I realized those raspberries were being blown on my arm. And then I realized everyone sitting in the two rows behind me were giggling as well! It made it more difficult to gain my composure.

I just had to laugh I am the Mother of two boys!
