Lately he will bust out in the car or at home with little tidbits from his favorite shows. Which currently are Jake and the Neverland Pirates, Curious George, Animal Mechanicals, and any of the Leap pad ones on Netflix.
The other day in the car I had handed him some food. He looked at it and said "ooooh! Ooooh! Ooooh!" to which Matt and I responded "fish crackers" and then he did the whole thing like the Quints do on Curious George "Fish Crackers! Oooooh! Oooooh! Oooooh!" oh it made me giggle because he had the inflection perfectly.
The only line he knows from Jake is the last line of the theme song. So randomly through out the day I hear "Jake and the Neverland Pirates and Me!"
He also says "The Moooon!" just like Gru does on Despicable Me!
I love to see his BIG heart shine through! I think we've all exclaimed something in frustration when something hasn't gone our way. An " Oh darn here!" and "oh no there" but how quickly our frustration melts when these statements are met with the innocence of a two year old asking if we are ok. "Ok? Mom? You, ok?"
And occasionally he says stuff that can be a bit embarrassing. He had made an ornament for Grandma Betty. He gave it to her the other day when we saw her at Papa and Grandma's. He did so a bit reluctantly. And then a few minutes later walked up to her and demanded "Give it Back!" He demanded it several times before we could convince him that it was hers now....and even at that I'm not sure he was all that convinced. The whole time I was praying in my heart that he didn't demand that she "give it back, now!" a phrase that is heard often in our house where things are frequently taken.
It's fun to learn his little language...
Marshew= marshmallow
Peew= a gun
Oh and I can't forget Talmage. He's quite the little fireball somedays. He has a fiery red temper. I like to joke that there isn't enough red in his hair for his temper to be that big. He's becoming quite vocal. He loves to babble! One of he's newest past times is spinning himself in circles while sitting on the floor, he's quite fast and gets a pretty good chuckle out of himself! He's quick with a smile and loves to clap. He's been learning a bit to wave.
The other morning when Matt was leaving for work we had been trying to get him to wave. As we sat in the chair he practiced his waving and then turned to the window where Matt had been and began waving. It was precious!
